Michael Lebowitz reflects

Black and White 1-Sunlight in a laneway-behind the wall is something new, behind the fence is a catacomb of rooms with various practitioners of enlightenment. Water and dogs run down the middle. And sunlight, from time to time. Denton Texas, 2011

The livin’ is easy- And a creek runs through it…or conversely, god willin’ and the crick don’t rise or maybe, fish are jumpin’ and the livin’ is easy or maybe, just maybe, it is another morning in paradise and for those who gathered at the creek to go for a run on a Saturday morning in the spring, the livin’ was easy even if the running was not, the crick didn’t rise and if you believe in these things, god was willin’; paradise shared and honored by all those in attendance, just out of sight but never out of mind.

Big Mike’s-Came here for a cuppajoe one morning. There was to be a memorial later that day. A veteran of the drug wars, maybe a survivor, was nursing a cup of coffee at the corner table. Didn’t say nothin’ and after awhile got up and left. The waitress told me the coffee was fresh, just made, but the bagels were day olds. Her dark hair cast shadows that danced on the wall.
